The new BMW 1-Series coupe is a fun, nimble, and compact sports car. The 128i comes with an inline-six cylinder engine putting out 230 hp and is also available in SULEV (Super Low Emissions Vehicle) trim for CARB compliant states. The more powerful 135i has a turbocharged version of the inline-six that is boosted to make 300 hp.
All BMWs are drivers' cars and the 1-Series is no exception. The standard transmission in all trim levels is BMW’s smooth shifting six-speed manual. Drivers who want an automatic can opt for a six-speed in the 128i and a seven-speed double-clutch in the 135i.
