Turner Motorsports Teams with BMW Ultimate Driving Experience
In support the BMW Ultimate Driving Experience, BMW North America has joined forces with the Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GTD Number 96 customer racing team for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar championship races at Road America and Virginia International Raceway.
The team is anchored by BMW Motorsports driver Jens Klingmann, with privateers Justin Marks and Bret Curtis co-driving the vehicle this year. Marks and Klingmann teamed up to share a season-best third place finish at the Shalen’s Six Hours of the Glen event this past July. The Road America and Virginia International Raceway events will see former BMW Junior driver Jesse Krohn co-drive the vehicle with Klingmann.
The BMW Ultimate Driving Experience offers BMW fans an opportunity to enjoy behind-the-wheel driving programs in a variety of BMW vehicles; event highlights include a new “Ultimate Driver” competition and a BMW Teen Driving School that’s based on the program that’s taught at the BMW Performance Centers. Four events remain on the schedule for this year:
- San Francisco, August 11-17
- Dallas, September 2-10
- Chicago, October 14-22
- New York, November 2-12
In a press release, Trudy Hardy, Vice President of Marketing, BMW of North America, noted, “The Ultimate Driving Experience gives drivers from across the country the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a BMW and experience firsthand why our brand is at the top of its class. Further, drivers participating in the teen driving school, autocross or M control clinic will develop their own skills, gaining experience and confidence while learning under the guidance of our BMW Performance Center instructors.”
